Dressing Room Security
Technical Assistant (for every show)
INFO TABLE: These people or person are comfortable working with the public and it is their duty to stay at the table for the duration of the show, for this reason it is sometimes easier to have a pair at the table so they can switch off:
Duties include: Setting up Table complete with Dusk Dances info & flyers, Donation Boxes, Guest book etc. In the middle of the show this info table is moved to a different location (to catch the audience at the end of the show). Once the show is over, the Volunteers will pack up the Info Table and bring it where it can easily be picked up by the truck.
SITE SECURITY: Guard the props and equipment at an assigned performance site. Once the dance piece is over at the site that was guarded, this volunteer becomes an usher.
DRESSING ROOM SECURITY: Watch the dressing room (or tent) for the duration of the show. This is an important position for the security of dancers’ and staff’s personal belongings. This person gets a walkie-talkie in case anyone needs to contact dressing room. The dressing room security also gets a chair! The dressing room is home-base, ie where everyone hangs out.

Helping the audience with any questions they may have.
Ushers can work with the Host to make sure the crowd is where they need to be.
At the end of the show ushers are introduced by the Host and will stay and collect money until the crowd has left.
Helping to take down signs at the end of the show. Return donation boxes and t-shirts to the dressing room or tent.
In order to ensure the smooth running of the performances, volunteers will not be able see the whole show, it is very important to know this and not come expecting to see the show.
